BMW has shown several renderings and teasers for the XM, each detailing a sharp SUV with distinctive lines and geometric shapes. The automaker has given its new SUV a larger grille and the front end has new LED headlights with running lights, turn signals and headlights. BMW has hidden sensors and cameras in the front fascia for advanced driver assistance, while the SUV’s grille takes inspiration from other BMW M cars.

XM Vintage Coffee is also available in Merino leather. This material undergoes a refining process that highlights rather than hides blemishes and aging. BMW says every XM is skinned differently, giving it a unique look, and no two are the same.
The BMW XM is powered by a turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 gas engine and an electric motor. The engine itself produces 483 hp and works with a 194-hp electric motor. Horsepower tops out at 644 and torque reaches 590 pound-feet. Power hits all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. According to BMW, the fifth-generation electric motor uses the previous gear to maximize power. According to BMW, the system uses predictive temperature control to speed up charging and improve efficiency with up to 7.4 kW of AC charging power. BMW promises a 100 percent to zero charge in 3.25 hours, and the hybrid system supplies power to the car’s 12-volt electrical system.

The BMW XM’s price tag and performance put it in a rarefied environment in the world of super SUVs. It will compete with the Lamborghini Urus which shows extreme driving madness. Another good crossover is the mechanically similar Audi RS Q8. The Urus and RS Q8 are full V8 SUVs and offer no new power.
