Chinese New Year San Francisco 2023 – After a pandemic-induced hiatus last year, the San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade will return in 2022.
The San Francisco China Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday the return of its spectacular festival. The 2022 Tiger Parade is scheduled for Saturday, February 19.

The San Francisco Christmas Celebration and Parade began in the 1860s, and the Chamber has hosted it since the 1950s. According to the chamber, the city parade is the largest of the month outside of Asia.
San Francisco Offers More Covid Support Going Into 2023
Lunar New Year, celebrated in much of East Asia, falls on a different day each year depending on the lunar calendar, usually from mid-January to mid-February. In 2022, it will be February 1. San Francisco’s Chinese New Year is scheduled for the same day in Chinatown, and several events will be held leading up to the parade on February 19. Disney California Adventure will welcome the Lunar New Year with a multicultural celebration filled with joyful tributes to Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures and good wishes for the new year. In 2023 we will celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. The Chinese zodiac calendar plays an important role in shaping customs, festivals, and food in Asian communities around the world. In Chinese culture, rabbits have a unique ability to wait for the right moment and then take action. More than any other zodiac animal, the rabbit is a symbol of good luck. We also recognize the Vietnamese zodiac calendar on the Lunar New Year, which marks 2023 as the Year of the Cat.
Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be dressed in their Lunar New Year holiday costumes, as well as singing “Mulan” and “Fly” from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Mulan.
